About Jessica
I started my life on Fairchild Air Force Base before moving into Spokane when I was in kindergarten. Growing up in a working-class, blue-collar, union family instilled in me the values of hard work, fairness, and advocacy. After his time in the Air Force, my dad transitioned into union work, deepening my understanding of the importance of workforce protections and ensuring people have the resources they need to succeed. Those principles have guided my career and fueled my commitment to fighting for Spokane’s schools. Now, as a mother to a kindergartener, I see firsthand the importance of equitable funding, strong community support, and ensuring every student gets the opportunities they deserve.

Beyond my advocacy work, I’ve spent years coaching youth sports, helping young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. I believe the lessons learned on the field translate to the classroom—every student deserves encouragement, resources, and a pathway to success.

I earned my BA in Public Policy and Community Development from Evergreen State College and an MBA in Sustainable Systems from Presidio Graduate School, equipping me with the knowledge to tackle complex challenges in education and policy. My career has centered around fostering inclusion, engagement, and strategic change. As Director of Diversity and Customer Experience, I championed workplace equity. As a consultant, I’ve helped businesses and nonprofits refine their strategies and deepen their impact.

Now, I’m ready to bring that experience to Spokane Public Schools. I believe every student deserves a well-funded, inclusive education, and I’m committed to making sure no child falls through the cracks. Every student, regardless of their background or circumstances, should have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. Through collaboration with educators, families, and community leaders, we can build a future where every child succeeds.

Join me in shaping Spokane’s schools for tomorrow!
